Lancashire Cricket are offering an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Chartered Physiotherapist to join our Sports Science & Medicine Team, based at the iconic Emirates Old Trafford stadium, where you will have the opportunity to work with some of the leading professionals in the game.

The successful applicant will report directly to the Men’s Lead Physiotherapist and will work closely with the members of our multi-disciplinary Sports Science & Medicine Team, including Physiotherapists, Strength & Conditioning Coaches, Club Doctor, Sports Psychologist, massage therapist and Nutritionist as well as the 1st and 2nd Team Coaches and Academy Director.
You will work across both the Professional Squad and Development pathway, and be responsible for providing physiotherapy assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to a wide group of players including International, Professional, Academy, Age group players both from England and Overseas.
You will be expected to provide physiotherapy cover at Lancashire 2nd XI, Academy and U18s fixtures throughout the summer season, at both home and away venues around the country. In addition, you will be able to work with the 1st XI under the guidance of the Lead Physiotherapist.
Attendance at training sessions, screenings and recovery sessions is integral to the role, and with support from the team, you will be expected to confidently lead in the management and rehabilitation of players from injury to return to play.

The successful applicant will:
• Be a fully Chartered Physiotherapist holding a degree in Physiotherapy.
• Hold Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registration.
• Hold a visa to live and work in the United Kingdom in the case of overseas applicants.
• Be flexible and willing to work the often unsociable hours that come with working in a high performance programme.
• Have their own transport and a clean driving licence.
• Have an enthusiastic personality, being able to motivate and inspire confidence in others.
• Undergo a check with the DBS if you don’t already have one in place
• Undergo Emergency Trauma Training with an ECB approved course.
You do not need extensive sports physiotherapy experience to apply for this position as there is considerable opportunity to learn. However, you must be reliable, willing to learn, able to follow instructions and be punctual and efficient. It is important you have a hands-on approach to treatment and soft tissue work, combined with a confidence in your ability to perform thorough assessments and a clinical diagnosis.
An understanding or background in the game of cricket is desirable, and the successful applicant will be required to help with team warm-ups and fielding drills. A “Team First” mentality is paramount with the ability to mix easily in a dressing room environment with athletes of various ages and backgrounds.
