Energize Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin is a charitable company which is one of a national family of 45 accredited County Sports Partnerships. We require a new member of staff to help us achieve our vision of using sport as a vehicle for change.
POSITION: More than Sport Officer (Initially a 1 year contract with in principle funding for year 2 (with potential for longer depending on future external funding success).
SALARY: £21,400 per annum.
The West Mercia Police & Crime Commissioner has funded Energize to pilot a new and exciting project to support challenging young people (aged 16-24) into sports and volunteering activities. Sport is a fantastic tool to provide young people with the confidence and experience to make positive lifestyle choices and the project will engage the hardest to reach.
Whilst a passion for sport and physical activity is essential, we are keen to hear from individuals who have experience in working with challenging young people, with an understanding of the behaviours that can lead to social exclusion, anti-social behaviour and offending. The ideal candidate will represent Energize across the Criminal Justice sector, identifying partnerships and opportunities for delivering Sport England projects and funding too.
