Express Newspapers is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic online video assistant.
Reporting to the Head of Video you will be dealing with requests from journalists to source or commission suitable video to accompany articles on the Express, Daily Star and OK! Websites.
Monitoring incoming agency video content, live TV broadcasts and social media for interesting video content and suggesting stories around those videos to the relevant news desks.
Fast editing skills required as most videos will require some modification such as blurring of faces and car number plates, bleeping out swearing, compiling montages and generally improving the look and quality video content before uploading.
An awareness of news and current affairs as well as popular culture (celebrities, music, film, TV etc) is essential.
Some filming (interviews etc) may be required from time to time.
Experience and skills
Proficient on Macs
Video production and editing (Adobe Premiere)
Experience of CMS
Headline and copy writing
An understanding of journalism law
Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
Shooting video and stills
