Job Description
Millwall Football Club is looking to recruit committed, knowledgeable, self-motivated Chartered Physiotherapists, Sports Therapists or Sports Rehabilitator to join the Academy Sports Science & Medicine department. The successful candidate will work within a Category 2 Academy and fulfil the requirements according to the EPPP system.
The role of the Academy Therapist is fundamental to the long-term vision of Millwall Football Club. The successful applicants will provide first aid cover for all academy home and away games within players from the U9-U15 age groups and occasionally have involvement with the full-time scholars.
The applicants must be prepared to work flexible hours, including mainly weekends sessions and some midweek evenings when required.
This is an excellent opportunity for pro-active individuals, with a keen interest of working in football. You will need to be up to date with current literature, understand the scope of practice, and seek to develop your practical skills alongside with opportunities to attend internal CPD events.
Main Duties:
Provide emergency first aid cover – weekend and evening matchdays
Clinical assessment of youth injured players U9s-U15s prior to the games
Keep detailed and accurate records of injuries and treatments and upload them on the PMA.
Communicate with coaches, sports scientist and parents regarding players’ injury.
Liaise with full time academy medical members to update for player’s rehabilitation progress
Attend and participate in in-house CPD sessions (when possible)
Promote the safeguarding and welfare of children within the academy
Essential Requirements:
Chartered physiotherapist, Sports Therapy or sport rehabilitator degree.
FA ITMMiF (Level 4) or equivalent 1st aid qualification is essential to apply for the vacancy

Desirable Requirements:
Valid Safeguarding Certification
Experience of working in professional sport with adolescent population
Understanding of the EPPP requirements
FA ATMMiF (Level 5) qualification
Personal characteristics:
Flexible working hours and timetable commitment.
Flexible to cover away fixtures with long travels
Experience of working in the sporting (football desirable) environment.
Strong communication skills
