Job Description
International Tennis Federation (ITF) is the world governing body of tennis. Founded in 1913, its purpose is to ensure the long-term growth and sustainability of the sport, delivering tennis for future generations in association with its 213 member nations. The ITF oversees the rules and regulations that govern international and national competition.
The ITF is responsible for the worldwide development of tennis through its highly regarded Development Programme, its Science and Technical department which monitors equipment and technology, and its Officiating department which oversees the education and advancement of officials. The ITF organises over 1,500 weeks of men’s, women’s and junior tournaments on the ITF World Tennis Tour, and also manages the ITF junior team competitions, ITF Beach Tennis Tour, UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour and the ITF Masters Circuit. The ITF is the owner and rightsholder of the two largest annual international team competitions in tennis, Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge and manages the Olympic and Paralympic Tennis Events on behalf of the IOC and IPC. The ITF upholds the highest standards of integrity and is a partner in the International Tennis Integrity Agency.

The Role:
This role will form part of a growing ITF safeguarding team, with a focus on the non-medical care and performance lifestyle of players who participate in ITF Tours, events and activities.

Responsibilities:
• Development of an effective strategy for a tennis-specific lifestyle support programme to improve performance by focusing on:
– Personal Development
– Professional skills and career development
– Mental health and well-being
– Managing social risks
– Managing education and transition
• Development and delivery of player care and performance lifestyle support and education within the ITF Regional Training Centre and Grand Slam Player Development Programmes, ITF Tours and Player Pathways.
• Identify and share best practice with key stakeholders (including Regional and National Associations, and the ATP, WTA, ITIA and IOC) to incorporate the latest research in player care and performance lifestyle support into player development at all levels.
• To monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of ITF player care and performance lifestyle activity.
• To receive and process safeguarding reports from players and provide short-term support as necessary.
• Maintain an awareness of global issues that impact on the care and performance lifestyle of international tennis players.
• Maintain professional qualifications, as appropriate.
• Undertake other responsibilities, as directed by the ITF Safeguarding Manager.

You will have…
Essential
 An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject or significant experience in education, sports management, sports science, sports psychology or a related discipline.
 Relevant experience and knowledge of performance lifestyle risks to players/athletes in high performance national and international sport.
 Proven experience in delivering performance lifestyle programmes with players/athletes, parents, coaches and other sports people in multidisciplinary environments.
 A flexible and empathetic approach in professional relationships built on trust and confidentiality.
 The ability to analyse information, solve problems and provide sound advice to players/athletes.
 Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
 Ability to receive and accurately record sensitive confidential information.
 Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and other digital technology.
 Fluency in English.

Desirable
 A recognised post graduate qualification in mental health care, counselling, mentoring.
 The ability to speak other languages, particularly French or Spanish.
 Experience and competence in delivering training.
 Experience and knowledge of national and international tennis.
 Experience of safeguarding in an international sports environment.
