Job Description
Introduction
The Projects Assistant will work as part of the Strategic Partnerships Unit with the main responsibility to provide coordination and support to existing projects in delivery.
Applicants will be expected to have some prior experience in project delivery.
The role will involve providing support to existing ukactive projects, including support around an exciting summer physical activity campaign, culminating in the delivery of National Fitness Day, in early September.
The role will require high quality delivery of projects with these organisations ensuring key performance indicators and deliverables are achieved.
The role will include attaining and maintaining a high level of knowledge on all operational aspects of ukactive.
It will be expected that although this role will not be directly involved with the day to day operational aspects of consultancy, core operations or public affairs and communications, remaining informed and abreast of new projects, strategies and developments will be required. Internal training will also be provided to support the role develop project management expertise.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities include:
• Acting as the primary source of support for project activities across ukactive
• Maintaining a thorough understanding of the business plan of ukactive, its ambitions and the areas for potential development at all times.
• The day-to-day coordination of Change 4 Life Summer Campagin and National Fitness Day.
• Driving the approaches to targeted partners to ensure a steady stream of “introductory meeting” opportunities, 1:1 meetings, presentations, working with external consultants where necessary
• Contribute to plans, projects and strategies to stimulate greater levels of interest in ukactive projects and services relating to physical activity
• Providing general support to existing projects, including planning, financial management and delivering key outputs
• Supporting Project Manager in all of his activities, including meeting and travel arrangements, draft presentations, proposal writing and email drafting

Reporting
The Projects Assistant will report to the Project Manager who will be responsible for overseeing workload and performance. The role will also include wide interaction and support to Project Managers in delivering requirements for existing projects.
