Job Description
Lancs Medical, who provide medical services to Lancashire Cricket Club are offering an exciting opportunity to become the full-time Women’s Physiotherapist. Based at the iconic Emirates Old Trafford the role will be working primarily across the regional women’s structure with both the Thunder senior and academy squads.
Employed directly by Lancs Medical the successful applicant will report directly to the Lancashire Cricket Medical Director (Lancs Medical) and Regional Performance Director of Women’s Cricket, working closely with the women’s multi-disciplinary Sports Science & Medicine Team.
Key Responsibilities
• You will be responsible for providing qualified physiotherapy cover at all home and away regional fixtures throughout the summer season as well as full cover into the close season, travelling with the team as determined by the team fixtures.
• Attendance at training sessions, screenings and recovery sessions is integral to the role.
• You will be expected to lead in the treatment and rehabilitation of injured international, professional, Academy and age group players, working closely with the other members of the women’s sports science & medicine team.
• A key part of the role will be to ensure adherence to Covid-19 medical guidelines and regulations during the setting up of any training and competition.
• You will be responsible for providing qualified physiotherapy cover at all home and away Thunder 50-over matches, Manchester Originals matches in The Hundred and Lancashire women’s T20 matches throughout the summer season as well as full cover throughout the close season, travelling with the team around Lancashire and other counties in the UK as determined by the team fixtures.
• You will be expected to lead in the treatment and rehabilitation of injured international, professional, Academy and age group players, working closely with the other members of the women’s sports science & medicine team.
Essential Requirements
• Be a fully qualified Chartered Physiotherapist holding a degree in Physiotherapy.
• Hold Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registration.
• Hold a visa to live and work in the United Kingdom in the case of overseas applicants.
• Be flexible and willing to work the unsocial hours that come with working in a high-performance professional sporting environment.
• Have their own transport and a clean driving licence.
• Have an enthusiastic personality, being able to motivate and inspire confidence in others.
An understanding of cricket is desirable, and the successful applicant may be required to help with team warm-ups and fielding drills. It is expected that the successful applicant will have the ability to mix easily in a dressing room environment with athletes of various ages and backgrounds.
