Description
An opportunity has arisen for a Retail Assistant to work within our Supporter Services Team,
providing event-goers, sports fans and Hampshire Cricket Members an exceptional retail experience
online and in person at The Ageas Bowl.
Following a restructure of our retail operation and the appointment of a new kit supplier, this an
exciting opportunity for an ambitious, customer-focused individual to grow into an exciting role with
huge potential.
Ideally, the successful candidate would have some retail experience in a blended online/in-person
retail environment. However, we would welcome applications from anyone who has limitless
enthusiasm, an enterprising attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional fan experiences.
The Role
• Assisting in all aspects of the running of The Ageas Bowl Shop and Ticket Office.
• Using bespoke software to deliver a seamless end-to-end journey from product set-up to
after-care.
• Providing face-to-face support for attendees at major events.
• Receiving deliveries and working directly with suppliers to resolve discrepancies in quality or
quantity of received items.
• Picking, packing and distributing online and phone orders within an agreed timeline.
• Undertaking stock takes and ensuring discrepancies are accurately recorded and reported.
• Ensuring appropriate stock is displayed within agreed brand guidelines to maximise revenue
generation on match days.
• Answering enquiries and resolving issues via email, in person and on the phone.
• Working as part of the wider Ticketing, Membership & Reception team to act as the first
point of contact for venue visitors.
• Working with the Marketing & Communications Team to provide insight in to buyer
behaviour and inform future campaigns and merchandising.• This role will be within our Supporter Services Team and, while the primary focus will be on
our retail operation, the successful candidate will be expected to support in undertaking
Ticket Office and Reception duties as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
• Passionate about delivering unrivalled fan experiences in a sports and events environment.
• Organised approach to planning work schedules and meeting deadlines.
• Competent IT skills and willingness to work with new technologies to drive revenue and
enhance customer experience.
• Capable of remaining calm in high pressure environments and resolving challenges that arise
to minimise impact on customer experience.
• Confident dealing with customers and resolving complaints efficiently and swiftly.
• Active team player who can build and maintain positive relationships with internal and
external partners.
Desirable
• Experience working within a small retail environment with a blend of online and face-to-face
transactions.
• Knowledge and understanding of utilising retail software to deliver a seamless end to end
customer journey.
• Ambition to grow within a new business function, with the opportunity to take on more
responsibility as the role develops.
Requirements
• The successful candidate will be required to work a range of flexible hours in line with the
event schedule.
