Job Description
The Competition and Events Manager will report to the Pathways Manager and will be responsible for developing positive relationships with key partners including:
Scottish Rowing working groups including Competition Strategy Group (CSG), Racing Control Commission (RCC) and Scottish Rowing Regatta Organising Committee (SRROC)
Clubs including event organisers, committees, volunteers, and coaches
British Rowing
sportscotland
Scottish Student Sport (SSS) and British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS)
Education and Active Schools
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the wide-ranging competition and events programme within Scotland including:
Working with clubs and others to develop new competition/events/challenges for rowers in line with the Scottish Rowing development plan such as but not limited to:
o Camps
o Challenges
o Events
o Badges/proficiency programmes
Leading the development of competition organisers across Scotland, developing the volunteers to deliver competition in Scotland (officials, event organisers, timing officials and other event volunteers).
Liaising with the Race Control Commission (RCC) to define and manage the processes for the operation of the Annual Scottish Rowing Regatta Calendar
Liaise with the Scottish Rowing Regatta Organising Committee (SRROC) to ensure that the Scottish Rowing Spring Regatta and the Scottish Championships are aligned to the pathway and run to budget and in according with the event specification.
Manage the Scottish Rowing Schools League, Scottish Rowing Schools Indoor Championships and Scottish Indoor Rowing Championships.
Promote Scottish Rowing competition, events and other activities by
Managing Scottish Rowing’s communications plan.
Create, source, and deliver content, utilising all relevant platforms (such as social media, website, emails etc.) to engage the membership and partners.
Promote all aspects of work within the Scottish Rowing (performance, pathways, development, Scottish Rowing Centre, and governance).
Manage the competition and events budget.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of competition initiatives on key competition KPIS.
Any other reasonable task that may be required by Scottish Rowing.
