Job Description
An opportunity has arisen within the Golf Foundation for a full time Regional Development Officer to cover maternity leave for 12 months and to oversee the implementation of the ‘HSBC Golf Roots’ initiatives via school, community and club projects in the South East region covering Essex, Kent, Sussex and Surrey.
The Officer will work closely with PGA Coaches and officials/volunteers in golf clubs, and in partnership with officers from England Golf and the PGA, to help more young people ‘Start, Learn and Stay’ in the sport. In addition, the successful candidate will work with a variety of national and local partners such as School Games Organisers and Active Sports Partnership to help more young people enjoy the benefits of golf.
A sound knowledge of sports development principles and practices is essential, as is experience of sports development work with schools, communities and clubs.
Good IT skills, experience of operating Microsoft Office, and the ability to communicate effectively in a variety of circumstances are all required. An appropriate leisure or teaching qualification is desirable. Applicants should have an interest, but not necessarily a background, in golf.
