Job Description
The Academy at Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club is seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual to the position of Senior Academy Physiotherapist (U18 Squad) on a 12-month fixed term contract (maternity cover).

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all Academy physiotherapy activities encompassing the U18 age group. The complexity of the role demands a high degree of organisation and the ability to effectively manage the U18 squad as well as assist in the management of other academy squads; in order to ensure that all players throughout the age-groups benefit from a high level of physiotherapy provision.
The Senior Academy Physiotherapist (U18 Squad) will work in conjunction with the Head of Academy Medicine to ensure the processes and philosophies in place at Wolves F.C. Academy are implemented throughout the academy age groups in keeping with the development of a ‘wolves way’.
The ultimate aim of the role is to provide a high level of physiotherapy service to all U18 academy players and to also assist with the progression of players through the academy age groups in order to develop players with the physical attributes to flourish at 1st team level. The role will provide the successful applicant with an opportunity to be an integral part of the Wolves Medical and Sport Science Department.

Essential Qualifications/Requirements:
– BSc Degree in Physiotherapy
– Minimum of 3 years membership to the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) and CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy)
– Advanced pitch side first aid qualification
– Full UK driving license and car

Essential Professional Experience:
– Experience of clinically assessing, diagnosing and rehabilitating a wide range of neuromuscular and orthopaedic conditions in young elite athletes
– Evidence of developing, implementing and evaluating physiotherapy programmes for young elite athletes, demonstrating advanced clinical reasoning skills
– Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team in a professional sporting environment
– Experience of implementing profiling and screening methods for young elite athletes
– Experience of utilising injury prevention strategies in a professional sporting environment
– An understanding of the Elite Player Performance Plan including the audit process and categorisation of football academies
