Native & Co is looking for a shop assistant to join their team in running their Notting Hill shop. Working both independently and alongside our binary team, the ideal candidate will have excellent organisational, and time keeping skills, a genuine appreciation for design and a firm grasp of the concept and ethos behind Native & Co. Experience in retail, particularly in the arts and/or design sector is a plus but not essential. The position is initially part-time with the view of eventual independent and full-time shop floor management. A long-term partnership is desired, with a dedicated individual looking to grow within the role.
The position will primarily consist of shop floor and online store management, alongside the opportunity to work in-studio.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Sales floor duties:
greeting and reinforcing relationships with clients
engaging with customers about our products
monitoring stock levels and placing orders when necessary
coordinating and managing online orders
general store upkeep and maintenance
In studio duties:
managing and growing our social media presence
assisting with in-house products and press photography
editing products and press photography
managing incoming press and customer enquires
managing and keeping up to date our e-commerce website
assisting with in-house models and prototype development
Essential experience and/or skills:
excellent communication skills
practical knowledge of design, craft and the materials involved
interest in Japanese and/or Taiwanese culture
computer literacy including Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel etc…)
English proficiency
Preferred skills and/or experience:
recent and relevant experience in retail
practical experience of any of the following: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Lightroom
a creative background
Fluency in Japanese is advantageous but not necessary for the role. The ideal candidate should be available to start as soon as possible.
