A rare opportunity has arisen to join the London showroom of a successful Italian interior textile company. Dedar is a highly respected name in the world of fine sophisticated interior fabrics and our UK branch is now looking for a full time showroom assistant to join our passionate, dynamic and international UK team.
As showroom assistant, you will support and report to the showroom manager and general manager. This is an important support role within our UK business, and you will aim to offer with confidence a second to none level of customer service to our ever demanding trade-only clientele of our two brands Dedar and Hermès Home Fabrics and Wallpapers.
Responsibilities:
Your main responsibility will be to get involved in coordinating the whole process of guiding clients, from meeting and greeting them to ensuring our customers always departs our showroom with multiple fabric solutions in hand. This implies knowing our product line inside-out (full training provided) and helping clients with their fabric selections and colour schemes. For that you will be working under the supervision of the showroom manager and will be assisted by a cutting administrator.
We have a busy showroom and the role requires a strong organisational skill set to also help customers and administration team members with general enquiries (price, stock enquiries, stock reserves), and support the sales team in sourcing products for their customers.
As and when required by the showroom manager, you may also from time to time be required to visit local customers, to present new collections and develop sales.
The candidate:
As a natural customer relationship builder, you must be immaculately presented, warm, charming, and confident with first class communication skills and really want to make a difference.
You will need to be very organised and meticulous and seek opportunities to solve problems and help customers and colleagues alike at all times.
You must be of graduate caliber, be passionate about fabrics and interior design, have exceptional customer services skills and you must have some experience in either sales, interior design or luxury brands.
To be successful in this role you also must possess:
good and confident telephone manners
good computer literacy and some experience in working with business softwares
knowledge of Microsoft Office softwares
good general administrative skills
a second language is not required but would be an advantage
This key customer-facing role is to be based at our Design Centre East Showroom located in Chelsea Harbour, London. Ideally you will live within a maximum 1hr commute from the Imperial Wharf overground station.
The standard working hours are 9am to 5.30 pm, but you will be required to work late when necessary.
