Burnley FC in the Community (BFCitC) is the award-winning, official charity of Burnley Football Club.
We work hard every day to deliver our mission to inspire, support and deliver change to communities across Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale, the Ribble Valley and West Yorkshire.
We work with over 70 local, regional and national partners in five key areas: Sport, Education, Health, Social Inclusion and Community Facilities. Our highly skilled, dynamic and passionate team now deliver over 50 community projects that touch the lives of a huge spectrum of people in and around Burnley. From children and young people right through to senior citizens.

The charity is now looking to recruit to the role of Sport and Education Coach to work on the Premier League Primary Stars (PLPS) programme.
PLPS uses the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills. The programme has been developed by the Premier League Charitable Fund, a Premier League funded charity which aims to create positive and lasting sporting, health and education outcomes for children, young people, and the wider community.

Delivered by BFCitC staff, the programme inspires girls and boys aged 5-11 in the classroom, the playground and on the sports field.
Reporting to the Primary and Secondary Schools Engagement Manager, the Sport and Education Coach will be expected to:
• Take responsibility for the delivery of the Premier League Primary Stars programme within a designated cohort of schools, on behalf of BFCitC.
• Ensure meticulous planning is conducted prior to each session that is delivered, with considerations being made for individuals’ needs and requirements.
• Deliver the highest possible quality of sporting session, to a wealth of participants with varying abilities, needs and demands, in a variety of different environments, including:
o National Curriculum Physical Education
o Extra-Curricular Sessions
o Soccer Schools and Holiday Camps
o Whole School Assemblies
o Recreational Sport Sessions
o Educational sessions (Literacy, Numeracy and PSHE workshops).
• Continuously evaluate the success / standards of own work and that of others, through rigorous self and departmental reflection and analysis.
• Partake in the crucial processes of monitoring and evaluation, to ensure that the progress / impact of any given provision is reporting to key funders in a timely and effectively manner. This includes the use of regular registers and the Views platform.
• Ensure that all stakeholders are kept safe and well, before, during and after the delivery of a given session.
• Be able to work flexible and unsociable hours where the role of the job requires.
• Work towards agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Ensure the service is delivered and managed in accordance with the Charity’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Hold a commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace and a willingness to undertake all relevant equality and diversity training.
• Demonstrate the Burnley FC in the Community values at all times.
• Promote the Burnley FC in the Community brand and ethos in a professional, strong, and positive manner.

An ideal candidate will have;
Essential:
• FA Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football.
• Level 1 or 2 Sports Coaching Award in a second, or multiple sports.
• Level 3 Certificate in Supporting PE and School Sport (AfPE)/similar or a willingness to complete.
• Full driving license and the use of a vehicle.
• Experience of working on football/sport-based projects.
• Experience of working in a school setting.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• A passion for sport and the community and making a difference.

Desirable:
• Experience of delivering PE and PSHE curriculum in schools.
• Knowledge and experience of Safeguarding young people.
• Experience of delivering activities and interventions to raise students’ aspirations, resilience and promote positive wellbeing.

Applicants will need to have a flexible approach to work and be able to work ad hoc evenings, weekends and match days as required.
