Job Description
The role of Sporting Events Legacy Coordinator will involve development and implementation work that harnesses the power of events to inspire and engage young people.
The post holder will be supported by and work closely with the Volunteering and Youth Voice Manager, to create national plans, develop new and existing strategic relationships, to ensure that young people living in low income and under-served communities across the UK have the best opportunities to access sport and physical activity. The post holder will also work closely with colleagues from across all of StreetGames, to draw on the skills, experience and expertise of the whole organisation.
They will adopt a ‘learning approach’ and regularly gather, and share, learning and good practice with colleagues and partner organisations. The post holder will require a blend of interpersonal skills, youth work and sport specific knowledge.
The post holder will be required to engage and support with strategic and local partners, through a range of approaches, including digital engagements and face-to-face meetings.
Who are we looking for?
StreetGames are looking for the suitable person with experience of working events and projects linked to sport, youth, or community development. Candidates should have experience of large-scale events or campaigns and have a track record in developing successful partnerships.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and project management skills as well as being solution focussed. You will have excellent networking and relationship building skills with the ability to apply these to a range of local, regional organisations.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication and people management skills. They will be able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
This role is offered as a full-time post, fixed term for 12 months and is also available as a secondment.
