Job Description
Funded by Sport England, Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire is part of a national family of County Sports Partnerships and we are currently in a position to recruit a Sports Development Assistant (Children and Young People).
As a key member of staff, the post holder will have experience of developing opportunities for young people to participate in sport and physical activity.
The primary purpose of the role is to work with stakeholders, both locally and nationally, to promote and support the delivery of the partnership’s children and young people programmes. The post holder will play a vital role in the monitoring and evaluation of delivery programmes across Herefordshire and Worcestershire, gathering insight and examples of best practice.
This position will provide support across the whole children and young people programme, including Sportivate, Satellite Clubs and the School Games. You will liaise with the Project Manager (Marketing, Communication and Insight) to promote programmes and national campaigns, including This Girl Can.
We are looking for someone who has experience of working in a sport development background, preferably within the context of children and young people, such as schools or community clubs. You will have an awareness of county sports partnerships and their role in developing sport, alongside knowledge of key interventions and initiatives related to children and young people and the challenges faced when trying to engage this audience.
Strong relationship management skills, well-developed communication skills and excellent organisational abilities will be essential to the success of the role.
An ability to work under pressure with conflicting priorities would also be essential as would a willingness to work unsociable hours. A self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously is critical to this role.
