Job Description
Tennis has seen a steady growth in its presence at Tower Hamlets schools in recent years, kick-started by the Tennis Foundation’s investment in a development coach for the borough in 2012. This post was taken into THYSF’s staffing structure and tennis has continued to grow with weekly community sessions for young people now established and in 2016-17, 8 Primary School Competitions due to take place.
Accordingly, the demand for coaching in borough schools has increased and we are now seeking an energetic tennis coach to support our Tennis Development Officer who demonstrates the following qualities:
• Qualified to Level 2 standard or above
• An ability to deliver safe, engaging and progressive coaching sessions appropriate to a range of ages
• Experience of coaching young people, both in school and community settings
• Ability to work as part of a team
In return we can provide coaching hours during term time, support with professional development and the opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth and development of Tennis in Tower Hamlets.
The Foundation also aims to support employees in achieving their own personal goals and although initiative and self-motivation are very important, we are committed to professional development and offer a very supportive environment to work in.
The Tower Hamlets Youth Sport Foundation is committed to the safeguarding of young people and as such all successful applicants will be expected to undergo Enhanced DBS Checks.
For an informal discussion about any of these opportunities, please call THYSF’s Club & Community Manager on 0207 987 4811 EXT 359.
