Job Description
North Yorkshire Sport (NYS) is an independent Charitable trust with an annual turnover of circa £1.1m, that uses Sport as a Driver for Positive Change. To support us in the next stage of our development we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our Board of Trustees, who will have a passion for improving the lives of the citizens of North Yorkshire.
We are specifically seeking Trustees with work and/or lived experience relative to the target groups we are seeking to work with, i.e. people who perhaps work within the voluntary sector on a face to face level with those facing inequalities.
This is to improve our collective understanding of the challenges facing our target audience and to help influence and shape our strategic planning and delivery.
Previous experience at Board level is not necessary as we place a high value on potential.
An understanding of the challenging economic climate small and medium enterprises are operating in, would also be beneficial but not essential.
Trustees of NYS serve on a voluntary basis, although reasonable out of pocket expenses will be paid.
Time commitment –Approximately 4 full days made up of 4 Board meetings (one of which includes the AGM) and up to 3 business development sessions per annum (held in conjunction with the Board meetings).
