Trustees – National Football Museum – England

Job Description
The National Football Museum’s mission is to bring visitors together from our local communities and around the world to share stories about football and to celebrate what for many of us is ‘the game of our lives’. Our ambition is to be a leading national museum both in cultural terms through the curation of a ‘Football Heritage Collection’ and by being recognised within the sport as the national museum for English football. We have a strong social purpose to promote opportunity for all to enjoy football culture and creativity.
We are seeking to recruit additional expertise to our Board of Trustees to support achievement of our charitable objectives, to celebrate diversity and to promote equity in access to – and benefit from – football culture.
We are especially keen to encourage applications from individuals from the global ethnic majority, women, the LGBTQI+ community and from people with disabilities. Following a recent skills assessment of our Board we are particularly interested in applications from candidates with the following skills, experience or qualifications:
• Finance/management accounting/audit including a qualified accountant or auditor to chair the Board’s Audit & Finance Committee
• Retail and commerce experience, ideally in a visitor attraction context
• Politics, advocacy or government experience at a national level
• Digital, in particular digital engagement in a museum/cultural context
• Women’s football
• Human resources.
