Women’s First Team Goalkeeping Coach – Heart of Midlothian plc – Edinburgh

Job Description
Heart of Midlothian is a Scottish Premiership Football Club and an Edinburgh institution with a proud heritage dating back to 1874. The Club are looking to recruit a Women’s First Team Goalkeeping Coach to oversee the Goalkeepers and to work in collaboration with the Women’s First Team staff to plan, deliver and evaluate coaching sessions.
The Women’s First Team has significantly grown this season with the majority of the team on professional contracts and having achieved great success in the league so far, the Club are committed to supporting the Women’s First Team Manager, Eva Olid, to meet her ambitions and objectives for the team. All training sessions will be held within the Club’s state of the art facilities based at the Oriam (Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre) in Edinburgh.
We aim to recruit a passionate, enthusiastic, and driven Coach who will relish in the opportunity to develop First Team Goalkeepers on what the Club hope will be another great season to come.

Key responsibilities:
• Implement the coaching programs for the Women’s First Team, documenting session plans prior to the delivery of training sessions and reflecting and evaluating post-session.
• Observe the Goalkeepers during matches and provide appropriate feedback.
• Assist with organising and documenting Player review meetings.
• Ensure all assigned kit is maintained appropriately.
• Ensure that all individual and team learning objectives link to the Women’s First Team Principles of Play.
• Liaise with the Women’s Team Manager and other departments (Medical, Sport Science) regarding coaching programs and individual player development.
• Ensure match day responsibilities are adhered to including, Goalkeeper warmups and defensive/ offensive set plays.
• Attend technical staff meetings as requested to ensure appropriate departmental communication, planning and evaluation.

Essential Requirements:
• Currently based in Edinburgh or can reliably commute to Edinburgh and other locations as per the needs of the position.
• UEFA A License or equivalent.
• Previous experience of working with First Team Goalkeepers and experience of working within a Professional Football environment.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to professional development and self- motivation.
• Demonstrate a strong team work ethic with a can-do attitude, proven professionalism, and excellent timekeeping.
• The role will require a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check by law through Disclosure Scotland and is a condition of the successful candidate’s employment.
