Purpose of Job
The Communications Department is responsible for leading all aspects of corporate communications, advancing the Bank’s vision and goals through various channels amongst external and internal audiences. The department is also tasked with protecting the reputation and integrity of the organisation, as well as safeguarding the EBRD brand. It also has responsibility for the Bank’s research and initial integrity checks.
Analysts will work across all teams in the department to further those aims. They will often have to engage with external audiences on multiple platforms and speak to the media and stakeholders. They will work closely with internal stakeholders in preparing material and presenting the EBRD’s work in an imaginative way. They will interact with many different levels of the Bank in order to help deliver internal and external material.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Assist with the implementation of the Bank’s overall communications strategy as relevant to specific regions that come within the remit in order to project a positive EBRD image.
Deliver a stream of multimedia communications content related to EBRD projects and activities to maximise impact in the region and also with other stakeholders.
Assist with the measurement and analysis of such content and its audiences.
Help develop and deliver on communications plans – proactive and reactive – for projects and themes – in order to present the Bank in the most positive way.
Liaise with the media to publicise the Bank’s activities and promote a positive EBRD image.
Assist with the preparation of strategies and assist with providing responses to negative and inaccurate reports to safeguard the Bank’s reputation.
Occasionally represent the Bank on relevant issues in order to present a consistent voice on Bank activities.
Develop and maintain a strong range of internal EBRD contacts in order to have access to key EBRD information.
Develop a network of external contacts, with the media, donors, also in the Banking and development sectors in order to be able to deliver the Bank’s messages as widely as possible.
Deliver imaginative treatments of the Bank’s messages to external and internal audiences.
Write and edit interesting, compelling and articulate material to promote the Bank’s work and to deliver key messages externally and internally.

Knowledge, Skills, Experiences & Qualifications
Academic/Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.
Experience
A good track record of practical significant experience in digital communications/journalism/ media relations/internal communications/donor visibility/design/writing and editing/research or other communication skills.
Good understanding of the Bank’s regions including political and socio-economic context) and knowledge of the media, especially digital, and communications channels and industry.
Good understanding of the relevant business sectors.
Technical Skills
Fluency in relevant languages.
Excellent digital skills, including audience metrics, content management systems, work with photos and, ideally, video.
Excellent communications skills both written and oral.
Editorial accuracy and ability to edit concisely.
The ability to convincingly tell the story of the Bank and its projects via various channels and products.
Creative flair and originality.
The ability to work independently while also knowing when to seek advice.
Good analytical ability and judgement.
Understanding of Communication Strategy.
