Purpose of Job
The role provides support to the Data Governance team within Data Management with the objective to implement the Data Governance Framework across the EBRD and improve data quality. Under the guidance of data governance specialists in Data Management, the role will work with business teams to conduct data profiling and analysis to help them: (i) better understand their data requirements; and (ii) to implement data governance to improve the quality and governance of their data assets.
A key focus of the role will be to support the operationalisation of the Bank’s data privacy policy with the objective to implement data protection good practice as embodied in the GDPR and to support business teams in the identification and classification of personal and sensitive data assets.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Assist in the implementation of data management and governance in a systematic manner as per EBRD data governance and quality framework.
Assist business teams to discover and understand their data assets to provide a holistic view including lineage, relationship views, and data profiling stats and quality scorecards.
Conduct detailed data profiling to catalogue and classify all types of data across the enterprise.
Identify data standardisation requirements, engage with the business decision-makers in defining the standards, and help implement standards. As part of data analysis, identify data quality issues and initiate remediation actions through the relevant business units.
Embed quality and privacy by design in data specifications by defining data quality and privacy rules per data domain or business process.
Participate in sprint and product planning meetings to identify data governance requirements or issues that needs addressing to ensure sprint continuity.
Monitor and measure data quality through definition and implementation of data quality metrics.
Qualifications & Skills / Experience & Knowledge
Background with data analysis and data profiling preferably using Informatica, Alteryx Designer, or SQL, SAS or equivalent
Exposure/ experience working in data privacy and protection implementation desirable
Data Modelling, Enterprise Architecture techniques would be highly beneficial
Advanced user of MS Excel
Self-motivated, focused, detail-oriented and able to work efficiently to deadlines are essential.
Ability to work autonomously, but also a good team player
Ability to interface with business on technical matters using clear language
Strong interpersonal skills and client oriented
Degree / professional qualification or equivalent work experience
