Architect – John McAslan + Partners – London, United Kingdom

John McAslan + Partners is a leading AJ100 architectural practice. Our extensive portfolio of international award winning projects includes infrastructure, hospitality, commercial, residential, education, cultural, heritage, urban design and landscape sectors. We are looking for an experienced architect with demonstrable experience across all stages to join our growing team.

The practice’s most recent success has been the acclaimed transformation of Kings Cross station in time for the 2012 London Olympics, which has won more than 20 international awards. We are currently working on the Crossrail Bond Street station, while other UK projects include a luxury residential development in Holland Park, schools, masterplans and a number of high-profile projects for cultural institutions.

In Doha, Qatar we are designing the Cultural Forum, a development of luxury serviced apartments, a Mandarin Oriental hotel, Heritage House Museums and a mosque, while in Russia we are working on five multi-modal transport hubs and the reconfiguration of the historic Bolshevik Factory into one of Moscow’s most prestigious commercial developments. There has never been a more exciting time to join the John McAslan + Partners’ commercial and residential studio.

The successful candidate will be several years post qualification and have proved experience working across all stages on new build and refurbishment schemes on both client and contractor side. The project you will be running is the landmark Millbank Complex scheme in central London adjoining the Tate Britain, involving the adaptive reuse and partial extension of the 30 storey tower, changing its use from office space to high end residential, a 5 star hotel and adjoining spa facilities. You will be working with clients of the highest calibre and working with key stakeholders in order to successfully prepare the project for planning.

Due to the nature of these appointments, candidates with MicroStation will be preferred. Excellent 3D modelling, AecoSim and rendering skills are a benefit. You will also need to be fully conversant with Adobe InDesign and be able to write and coordinate substantial design reports, such as design and access statements.

Immediate availability would be preferred but is not essential and depending on the suitability of experience will be offered as a permanent contract. Proof of your eligibility to work without restriction will be required.
