Business Applications Manager – Mission Aviation Fellowship UK – South East England

Mission Aviation Fellowship International (MAF I) is a not
profit, Christian organisation whose mission is to fly light aircraft in some of the world’s poorest communities. Every three minutes a MAF aircraft is taking off or landing somewhere in the world to assist missions, churches, aid and development agencies and other national groups to share the love of God.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Applications Manager to manage the provision of software applications to meet the needs of the Organisation, and manage the Business Applications team.

The organisation has a mix of in-house developed and off the shelf software applications. The role is responsible for managing the full application life-cycle from feasibility study through to deployment and maintenance, for providing programme management across projects, and developing roadmaps for each application. It is responsible for ensuring projects are well planned and managed to time, quality and
performance requirements. The role is also responsible for managing the maintenance and support of business
applications.

The role manages the Business Applications team, ensuring good practises are followed, standards are set and
adhered to, sound technical decisions are made, and encouraging team personal development. The successful candidate will be able to significantly demonstrate experience in a similar role.

They will be degree qualified with training in IT Management or have equivalent experience. A qualification in Prince2 or PMP is desirable.

They will have led and developed software applications teams, being able to provide vision and direction. Experience of .Net or PHP development and software procurement is desirable.

They will have experience of developing software specifications and providing user stories to teams.

They will possess excellent spoken and written English skills and be able to communicate well with all staff levels.

They will be willing to travel to other MAF locations for up to 8 weeks per year.

There is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a committed Christian. The post holder will be expected to take part in and lead prayer and biblical reflection, and to be a role model for the organisation in accordance with our Christian beliefs and standards in the workplace.

Based in Ashford, Kent. Some international travel will be required
