Luxury furniture maker Silverlining is looking to recruit a junior design assistant whose principle role will be to support the design team with an increase in graphic related work. The designer will report to our lead designer and sales staff.
Silverlining create award-winning furniture for super yacht and residential projects worldwide. The company is known for combining innovative design with traditional and 21st century materials and craftsmanship.
The design assistant will be responsible for:
producing design and project presentations in a quick and efficient manor, often under the pressure of tight deadlines
keeping the company portfolio up to date with the latest design work and current project photography
producing new marketing material in a style consistent with the current brand identity
producing exhibition stand graphics for the trade shows SL attend each year
keeping the blog and social media outlets current and consistently updated
supporting the design team in producing colour visuals
preparing and updating design specifications, collating and amending data
research for innovation and sourcing background information, images and technical specifications
background research and initial concept ideas on both traditional to cutting edge designs
other general office support tasks
Key skills and experience required of the designer:
Bachelor’s degree in Product/Furniture/Graphic Design (or a related field)
a knowledge of print and a confidence to deal with print related suppliers
AutoCAD and Rhino experience
good hand sketching and visualisation skills
working knowledge of Adobe creative software
excellent written and spoken English
confident and professional telephone manner
at least one years experience in an architectural or interior design practice preferred

a general interest and enthusiasm art and design
good organisational skills
attention to detail, carefully following instruction and checking work for accuracy
good timekeeping and work ethic that is characterised by commitment, motivation and energy
adaptable to work in the face of pressure and setbacks
ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people and work cooperatively with others to be part of a team
computer literate with the ability to learn new programmes easily

Offer:
the position is a full-time office based role
an immediate start would be preferable
pay £17,000 to £22,000, dependent on experience and ability
pension up to 6% company contribution on completion of probationary period of six months
30 days holiday (including bank holiday)
