Ideally candidates will have a degree in engineering design, industrial design or similar discipline.

The successful candidates will:

be able to demonstrate a good understanding of engineering design principles
be fluent in Solidworks
be competent in 2D AutoCAD
have excellent communication, mathematics, IT skills, creative and problem-solving abilities
have the personality to be able to blend into a small and friendly team
have the confidence to work within a wider design team of other consultants and to be able to communicate directly with our clients
be self-motivated, innovative and able to meet deadlines under pressure
be able to project manage effectively including being proficient in time, priorities and financial management across multiple projects
be able to build excellent relationships and negotiate effectively with clients, team members and suppliers
be interested in how things are put together and demonstrate the ability to be a hands-on maker

We are interested in recruiting experienced design engineers who can bring a specialism in productisation to the role. Desirable skills relating to this are:

strength in technical aspects of design engineering and detailing
knowledge of or interest in building standards and performance
experience relating to bringing a design project to fruition or making an idea/project live
technical understanding of relevant manufacturing techniques and skills

A significant advantage would be exceptional knowledge of Solidworks – ideally to a ‘professional’ or ‘expert’ standard.

Following an initial trial period of three months this position will lead to a permanent full-time job with excellent professional development opportunities for the right candidates.
