Waterways World, Britain’s best-selling canal and river magazine since 1972, is looking for new editorial talent to work across its range of commercial canal and river titles. The position will be based at our Burton-on-Trent offices, and is ideal for an ambitious graduate with some experience who’s ready to take on a new challenge.
Key responsibilities will include: writing and researching news and feature material; chasing and proof-reading copy; liaising with in-house teams to ensure the efficient running of the production process; producing content for our websites and digital platforms; and helping to catalogue one of the largest waterway picture libraries in the country.
The successful applicant will have an exceptional command of written English, excellent organisational skills, relevant office experience and a full driving licence. Creative flair and the ability to work fast without supervision are also essential. Experience of working in a publishing/copywriting environment is highly desirable, as is familiarity with Photoshop and InDesign software, and some knowledge of the UK’s inland waterways.
