Ovum, part of the international Informa Group, currently has exciting opportunities available for Editors to join our in-house Editorial team.  This is your opportunity to progress your editorial career in publishing within a commercially focused organisation, with responsibility for the quality of content written by Ovum analysts and published on Ovum’s online platform.

Ovum provides clients with independent and objective analysis to the telecoms, software and IT services sectors that enable them to make better business, and technology decisions.

As a member of Ovum’s Editorial team, the successful Editors will be responsible for copy-editing and proofreading reports produced by our global team of experts on a range of technology topics. They will ensure complex text is accessible by our global client base, conforms to Ovum’s house style and publish content using a content management system.

Note that this is an editing role; there is no writing involved.

Key Responsibilities:

Copy-edit and proofread Ovum content, including reports, PowerPoint documents, and Excel spreadsheets, to ensure it is consistent, accurate, and accessible to a global client base.
Work closely with other editors on house style issues to develop consistency across Ovum’s content.
Publish content using online content management system.
Participate in the training of analysts on writing skills and how to use content management systems.

The successful candidate should demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

Editing experience, ideally in business-to-business publishing.
Detailed knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience of using a content management system.
Knowledge of online publishing methods.
Committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality
Self-motivated and able to work independently to tight deadlines
Ability to grasp technical topics and make them understandable to others
A meticulous eye for detail
An excellent communicator, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and the confidence to train others
Highly numerate
