The Chase is a vibrant and remarkable school with A Level results amongst the highest in the region and GCSE results that were the third best in the county in 2014. Our students are aspirational, resilient and mature; many of the students studying across the different disciplines of Design & Technology have achieved great success in national initiatives and competitions such as Young Fashion Designer UK, Quilts UK and Festival of Quilts, Taste of Success, Rotary Chef of the Year, Audi Young Designer, Young Engineer of Great Britain and the Engineering Education Scheme; the expectation is that each student who attends the school aims to progress to university or quality higher apprenticeship training.
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, ambitious and highly motivated D&T specialist, to lead a supportive team of nine teachers within a well-resourced faculty. The successful candidate will be able to inspire students with a passion for Design and Technology, recognising the importance of promoting diversity and equality across the whole subject area. You will contribute to the development of strategic goals for the Faculty and will be able to project a vision within which students are well prepared for the modern economy. You will want to make the subject attractive to students from the full spectrum of abilities and have an interest and a track record of innovation to improve standards and outcomes. Specialist knowledge of Resistant Materials would be a distinct advantage.
