First Team Post Match Analyst – West Ham United Football Club

Job Description
West Ham United Football Club is looking to appoint an experienced First Team Post Match Analyst to join its growing Analysis department.

The ideal candidate will be motivated by excellence and is excited and challenged by the desire to be at the forefront of analysis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high standard of feedback in both visual and statistical formats on match performance to the manager, coaching staff and players.

Responsibilities
– Travel to all first team matches both Home and Away.
– Provide feedback during and after matches using SportsCode.
– Prepare post match presentations for team and individuals using SportsCode.
– Create a team statistical report with in-depth individual analysis from every match using Amisco.
– Record and monitor match day performance data and trend throughout the season.

Personal Specification
Education & Qualifications
– Undergraduate degree relating to the field of Performance Analysis, Sports Science/Coaching.
– Relevant experience and/or vocational qualifications to show a high level of tactical and technical football knowledge within an elite level environment.
– Coaching qualifications are desirable (FA/UEFA).

Specific Experience
– Previous experience working within professional football specifically within a First Team environment.

Abilities/ Skills/ Knowledge
– A strong work ethic, attention to detail and a drive for excellence combined with effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
– First-hand experience in the use of analysis systems and software specifically Amisco and SportsCode. Experience in Wyscount, Instat, Keynote, Pages and Microsoft Excel also required.
– Advanced computer skills (Mac and Windows) with experience of compiling, trending and presenting large sets of data.
– Forward Thinking – Have the ability to adapt and be innovative in a growing industry.
– Self-motivated/Committed – Ability to show initiative and also work under time constraints (maintaining high standards) often with unsociable hours.
– Be able to build a rapport and function as part of the Analysis department and the rest of the backroom staff.
