We’re looking for Trainee News Reporters with an interest in law to join our growing editorial team in London.
Law Business Research is an established news service and publishing house based in London, UK providing news, analysis and research tools for the global legal community. The company employs approx. 160 employees across five news and awareness brands, as well as other research and analysis publications. LBR publishes for nine different brands (GAR, GCR, GIR, GRR, LL, LACCA, GTDT, TLR, WWL), all of which are subscribed to by expert lawyers around the world.
Reporters will be asked to research, report and write breaking news and analysis for one of our brands, as well as writing features and surveys that will appear in magazines and assist with other projects as needed. Reporters will be asked to rely on court documents, data, regulatory filings and source interviews to craft analytical and timely news stories for a deeply sophisticated audience, written in a style and tone that cuts through jargon and spin to deliver accessible prose. Our readership are experts in their area of legal practice, therefore you will need to provide leading edge insight and analysis to this audience.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
2.1 degree from a leading university
Legal knowledge and writing experience is advantageous
Postgraduate law or journalism degree is desirable
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Interest in business and legal reporting
Ability to provide a deep analysis and insight for our readership, with ability to find angles in stories
An international outlook.
