As part of our growth strategy we are now looking to recruit a Head of Editorial Content & Creative Imagery. A commercially-minded media guru, you will have a strong understanding of user shopping behaviour online with a passion for creating content that sells. Reporting to the CEO you will manage the existing team of editors and designers whilst working closely with the marketing, technology and accounts teams in our offices in London.
The Role and Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the Editorial and Creative imagery for the website
Adapt, develop and define the tone of voice for the website to help build the personality of the brand and ensure communication of the brand’s vision, mission and values are consistent at every touch point
Manage the editorial and creative vision of the website in-line with growth targets and KPIs with a focus on streamlining and improving the automation of the editorial and design process to increase the volume and quality of creative content
Manage the existing team of editors and designers in line with the needs of the business to ensure delivery of the vision and adherence to the Editorial and Design standards by reviewing, authorising and signing off web content
Monitor conversion of customer-focused content with an aim to increase user interaction, encourage repeat traffic and determine commercial viability
Optimise the blog and other creative content for natural search to boost customer registrations to the website, deliver loyal return readership, increase customer engagement and turn the opportunity into a commercial revenue driver
Develop, implement and refine new editorial and design initiatives to further impact and improve company performance metrics
Oversee the organic social media content across platforms including twitter, facebook, pinterest and instagram. Collaborate with bloggers and editors to boost our presence and gain new members
Work closely with the marketing and tech teams to develop new areas of the website and implement efficiency and continuous development of the content management system
Work closely with the marketing and UX team to identify user flow and find creative ways to maximise profit and conversion through editorial and design content
Ensure SEO is front of mind for your editorial team
Report to CEO on developments and updates in timely manner
Requirements
5+ years’experience in an editorial or content creating role working with content management systems on a day-to-day basis
Experience in managing a team of in-house and freelance editors and designers
Experience in an e-commerce environment and a deep understanding of shopper behaviour and the impact of content on user conversion
Experience in the creation and execution of creative vision and brand development relative to commercial KPIs
Experience and understanding of social media and their use as content platforms
Experience in building, growing and nurturing teams of writers and designers to ensure the creative output is top notch
Experience in using analytics to create content that better achieve our business objectives
Excellent IT skills and understanding of basic web technologies (browsers, basic CSS / HTML)
Excellent planning, prioritisation, organisational and time-management skills
Excellent people and project management skills with a strong ability to inspire your team
Proven ability to lead, take ownership of tasks and problems that arise and seeing them through to a satisfactory outcome
Ability to oversee projects from conception to delivery
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Proven business acumen with the ability to think on your feet and make smart decisions whilst under pressure and to short deadlines
