Purpose of Job
The Reward team is responsible for providing specialist Reward expertise to the Bank. This requires the continuous assessment of the market competiveness of the Bank’s reward package whilst aligning it with the strategy of the Bank in attracting, motivating and retaining talent. An essential part of the team’s role is keeping up to date with best practice.
The focus of this Assistant Analyst role is to provide support to the Director, Reward and Principal, Reward in meeting these responsibilities. In particular, the role will undertake tasks required to deliver the steps in the annual pay review process, and provide support to reward related projects. The tasks will vary in nature and will include supporting the Reward Team and HR Business Partners with technical and process related queries, producing documentation and analytical reports, and developing communication materials.
The position reports to the Principal, Reward and requires daily interaction with other Reward and HR colleagues in carrying out the required tasks.
Background
The role will be responsible for providing support in areas such as the annual pay review process, reward project support, completion of ad-hoc surveys, pay analysis, and support in preparing the compensation and benefits proposals.
Works under direct supervision of the Principal, Reward.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Producing and analysing salary related reports in excel, including preparing summary presentations, optimising available tools including excel and PowerPoint.
Maintain training materials for HR colleagues on reward data integrity and coordinate data cleaning exercises.
Conduct and review manual severance calculations to a high degree of accuracy.
Support the Hay Job Evaluations administration process ensuring accurate system information is maintained.
Manage salary and benefit ad hoc survey submissions to agreed deadlines with external survey providers / consultants.
Contribute to the preparation (research, draft and review) of staff and HRBP communication materials related to the Pay Review Process and other reward related projects, in collaboration with members of the Reward Team.
Under the guidance of the Principal, analysing market pay data and making associated recommendations for reviewing and establishing internal salary ranges.
Compiling and presenting relevant research materials and information on reward practices in the market and at IFIs in support of policy recommendations.
Responding to HR Business Partners on reward and pay review queries, prioritising and escalating to Reward team members as appropriate.
Assisting Director, Reward in preparation for meetings, including support in preparing PowerPoints, and ensuring materials are available for meetings.
Providing support to key reward related projects, including but not limited to mapping of internal reward processes, review of diversity and inclusion related policies, compensation and benefits proposals process and Staff Council requests for information.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications
A graduate in a related discipline.
Experience of working in a HR department on reward or related HR topics, and international organisations or multi-cultural environment.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work effectively.
Good analytical and communication skills, fluent in English language, with the ability to understand and relay complex information in a concise way.
Excellent Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills (vlookups, pivots tables, if statements, knowledge of macros desirable).
Highly numerate with attention to detail.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal colleagues.
Customer and solution focussed when dealing with queries.
Able to work independently to find solutions, and recognise when to escalate or redirect a query.
Working knowledge of SAP HR (desirable) or HR systems experience.
Excellent team player essential.
