UK Sport is leading the drive to create British champions, in our role as the nation’s high performance sports agency responsible for investing in our brightest medal hopes. UK Sport’s investment played a pivotal role in delivering the amazing success achieved by British athletes at the London Olympic and Paralympics Games. Our targets for Rio are even more ambitious.
The Internal Communications Officer will be responsible for developing and delivering UK Sport’s internal communications strategy. They will keep staff informed, engaged and motivated to perform to their best ability and be kept up to date with the ever changing, sporting world. The Internal Communications Officer is also expected to support the team to include handling media phone calls, working on the website, and as part of a rota producing a summary of the daily media headlines to distribute to staff across the organisation. The role will also take responsibility for managing the job submission requests for the website and promoting high profile roles.
The Internal Communications Officer will:
Manage key internal communications with the all staff across the organisation including updates on the Staff Intranet, Monthly staff meetings and weekly email updates to staff.
Come up with opportunities and events to engage and motivate staff as a whole organisation.
Work with the IT department on the Intranet to enhance staff’s experiences and keep up to date with UK Sport’s priorities.
Monitoring the daily media headlines and distributing a summary to all staff.
Work with the HR team to develop and promote engagement opportunities to connect staff to the work being done on the front line of the sports.
Managing the jobs which are submitted to the UK Sport website, dealing with any queries and ensuring job adverts are to a high quality.
Writing and publishing strong editorial content for the UK Sport website
Manage the financial budget for Internal Communications.

Strategy development and delivery
First class copy writing
Intranet channel management, and multi-media content planning and delivery
Creative campaign planning and implementation
