Mondiale’s Editorial Internship Programme offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the highly competitive world of publishing. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in a career in journalism and will be working towards, or already have, a relevant degree or NCTJ accredited qualification.

Job Description

Job title: Editorial intern for TPi magazine / mondo*dr magazine
Reporting to: Durham & Ste Hume / Rachael Rogerson-Thorley & Sam Hughes
Period: Three-month position – full or part-time basis (three-days minimum)
Location: Strawberry Studios, Stockport

Duties and Responsibilities

As an editorial intern you will play a key role in maintaining and helping to grow the online side of the business for TPi magazine or mondo*dr magazine.

Mentored by the editorial team, you will gain first hand experience of how a business to business editorial department works while learning essential skills in editing and proofing content for online use; picture sourcing and editing; research skills and online content management. While your main duties will lie with the online side of the business, you may also be required to assist the editors on the printed magazines from time to time.

There will also be a strong focus on social media and you will be expected to fully engage in, and promote this area for TPi magazine and mondo*dr magazine, as well as any related events and conferences such as the UK & European Festival Awards and the TPi Awards.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about a career in journalism; organised, on time and willing to work hard. Creativity is welcomed at Mondiale Publishing and we encourage interns to ask questions, suggest ideas and use their initiative. It is essential that you are able to work as part of a team and you are willing to learn from those around you.

As part of the editorial department, you will learn essential skills in editing PR and in-house content; proof reading; sub-editing; basic InDesign and PhotoShop skills; online content management systems; researching, transcription techniques and social media brand interaction.

Start Dates

We are looking currently looking to fill four placements:

One for each title starting at the beginning of March
One for each title starting at the beginning of June
