We are currently seeking a junior eyewear designer to join our design team. In the team you will be working with three other designers and two product developers. You will be developing eyewear for over 50 high street customers to include Topshop, Urban Outfitters and Whistles; and working with our licences which include Kurt Geiger, French Connection, Ben Sherman and Oliver Goldsmith.
You must be pro-active and creative, demonstrate the ability to research and interpret fashion, eyewear and accessory trends to drive product development. Working with the designers you must have the technical and creative skills to exceed the customers’ expectations in a balanced approach that results in commercial and creative solution. You will need to be able to work to a critical path and to design products as part of a team to deliver great eyewear and ideas.
Main responsibilities of the role are:
draw CADs of new eyewear, packaging, and swing ticket designs
amending designs according to the clients’ final comments
research eyewear, fashion, colour trends and create mood-boards for customers
help select new frames for different accounts
work to a critical path and to design products with an awareness of price
ordering samples
producing reports and presenting the ideas to colleagues and clients at various stages of the design process
liaising with Far East suppliers on a regular basis
Applicants must be a UK resident and have a degree in design. Previous experience in fashion or accessories would be advantageous. A passion for design and a genuine interest in eyewear are all prerequisites for this role.
