An exciting opportunity exists for a junior graphic designer to join our busy architecture and design studio in Vauxhall, London. We are looking for a creative self-motivated individual with an interest in the built environment who will be working as a key member of the research and communication team. The successful candidate will work on a wide range of activities from graphic identity designs to presentations and applications to architectural projects. Additional duties will include updating the website, coordinating the image and book library, laying out high quality competition bids and support the admin team if needed. A keen eye is essential, along with a fluency in Photoshop, In-Design, Illustrator (and PowerPoint). A working knowledge of database programs such as OpenAsset is preferable along with video editing and photography skills.
The ideal candidate will:
have a great understanding of layout, type and colour with an aptitude for designing in both the digital and print channels
have excellent communication skills with the ability of working both independently or with a team in a fast paced environment under tight deadlines
have the ability to use relevant graphic design related software i.e. Adobe Suite
be able to show a wide range of ideas from concept to delivery in an exciting and well-presented portfolio
be practical, hardworking, hungry for experience and want to make a valuable contribution to the team
Key responsibilities:
design and production of PR materials such as invitations, brochures, boards, presentations, company books and publications
design and production of both digital and printed competition and pitch submissions
successful communication of the company identity
coordination of in-house graphic materials + maintaining the picture database
assisting architectural teams with graphic and diagrammatic tasks
translate technical drawings into easily readable, communicative and eye-catching products
Desirable:
video editing
model photography
some experience of, or a keen interest in web design
knowledge of database programmes
The role requires excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, the ability to work well under pressure and to demanding deadlines, and the confidence to liaise with senior management.
