Junior retail designer/CAD technician
Location: London
Department: store design and property
Position reports to: store design and planning manager
Job purpose:
We are seeking a junior retail designer working in-house to implement and develop store plans and interior environments for Links of London shops and concessions across the estate.
Key responsibilities:
create full presentation design packages for stand alone stores and concessions for Links of London. Including full AutoCAD drawings and high quality visual presentations for internal approval
create design intent packages for statutory and landlord/host store approvals, tender and construction phases
creation and development of detailed drawings for joinery production
sourcing new and innovative materials. Maintaining the materials and samples library
manage the accurate on-going editing of the retail design manual. Produce/collate new design details, amend existing details, produce/collate supportive visuals and photography and produce accurate specification details
issuing drawing details and specifications to international teams for local application
keep fully abreast of competitor and best practice retail interior design solutions, materials and technologies in order to develop new, viable best-in-class solutions
working directly for the store design and planning manager to achieve project objectives, deadlines and cost imperatives
Qualifications and experience:
Education:
Preferable BA Interior Design or Interior Architect qualification or equivalent.
Knowledge/experience:
between two to three years experience, junior/middleweight interior design, ideally in a role in premium to luxury retail development, architectural or interior design environment
knowledge and experience of industry standard design development processes and drawings management
demonstrable creative and technical design ability, competent in:
AutoCAD (essential)
Sketch Up (essential)
Photoshop (essential)
3D Studio Max (or similar 3D package)
InDesign
Powerpoint
working knowledge and experience of safe, durable and cost efficient, bespoke joinery development and manufacture for a retail environment
working knowledge, understanding and experience of retail design/public space obligations – design issues/change management, H&S, DDA application, M&E co-ordination, and general project planning
sound knowledge of top end retail brand environments and retail industry developments
