Lead Analyst – Portsmouth Football Club – Portsmouth

Job Description
Portsmouth Football Club are looking to recruit a full time Lead Performance Analyst to deliver, manage and lead the provision of Performance Analysis in our Category 3 Academy
The role will focus on leading the Academy Performance Analysis department in reaching/meeting the EPPP category 3 requirements that will involve working closely with Academy coaching staff in order to service all analysis needs. Also to work alongside our head of learning & coaching to develop tools and deliver content to enable coaches and players to analyse their behaviours in learning, performance & competition.
This may include but not restricted to; pre-match and post-match team and individual technical analysis, live coding of matches, training analysis, and data trend analysis. Other responsibilities would include:
• Filming of various Academy matches/training but specifically the U18 group.
• Providing opposition analysis as required
• Leading and producing best practice videos for staff and players throughout the Academy
• Delivering/supporting Analysis workshops for YDP and FP players
• Supporting staff and players with 6- and 12-week reviews as required
• Keeping all records up to date & managing content on PMA
• Developing new and insightful initiatives and practices for evaluating team and player performance
• Liaising with relevant medical, fitness and football staff regarding player development
• Managing staff and setting schedules for interns
• Administration cover in the academy office as and when required – currently on Wednesdays

Must be available to work weekends and this role will involve travel.

Our preference is for applicants to have experience working within an EFL Club Academy with knowledge of game coding software, Hudl software and various filming equipment.
