We are a small buzzy contract publishing company and this role is based at our offices in NW London (Golders Green) producing the Official visitor publications, print and digital (YUDU), for the brands of some of the leading events of World leading International trade exhibition Organisers.
An immediate opportunity has come available for an experienced managing editor to manage and bring together the editorial voice for a major international Spanish food event in which we are required to create the following bilingual magazines (Spanish and English).
Digital preview of the show early April, 40-60 pages.
Print show live late April 75-100 pages
Digital review of the show in June, 30-50 pages.
The requirements for the role in summary are to:
Work with the event organizer to bring their press content to the publication.
Write future trend articles for the subjects of the show
Interview senior management of exhibitors and provide content for publication
Manage the planning of adverts/articles
Take overall responsibility for the content of the magazine as well as manage and coordinate the production and design team.
The candidate will take an active part in advising on page layout, design and the overall look and feel of the magazines so a keen eye and creative flair is important.
You will be working closely with our designer and production manager as well as our in house junior Spanish editor who you will manage directly.
This role is part time 3-4 days per week and freelance however we have many other event magazines planned throughout the year and beyond and therefore after satisfactory performance we would look to expand the role further.
A minimum of at least 5 years of experience in managing and producing print and digital magazines from concept to inception is essential
Languages, particularly Spanish is useful but not essential
Remuneration: Up to £150 per day
