An award-winning architect’s practice is seeking an enthusiastic office manager, who combines excellent administrative abilities with a skill for graphic design. Our small, friendly, youthful office of 12 people is based in Batheaston, just outside of Bath, and requires someone to assist in improving office efficiency and promoting business growth.
The successful candidate will be well organised and self-motivated, with the capacity to work in different roles:
Office administration:
assisting senior staff with invoicing, monitoring project fees and resourcing
assist senior staff with HR responsibilities
monitor the office quality management system, and ensure its correct use
health and safety administration
organising diary appointments
dealing with suppliers, filing and ordering
liaising with IT support
Business development:
working closely with marketing manager in researching opportunities
managing social media presence
completing PQQs
updating the CaSA website -generally supporting office efficiency and organisation
Presentation/graphic design:
assisting in compiling bid documents, presentation documents for competitions / bids etc
assisting in compiling award entries
assisting in graphic presentation of written architectural documents
assisting in submission of online planning applications
assisting in updating marketing literature
The position will suit a confident communicator with excellent written skills, who has an in depth working knowledge Microsoft Office programmes. Experience of social media and using Photoshop and InDesign programmes would be beneficial, although a proven ability to learn new computer programmes would be sufficient. The position will also include being the first point of contact for clients and staff as well as ensuring the reception area remains neat and tidy, answering incoming calls and welcoming visitors.
Working hours negotiable, anticipated 24 to 37.5 hours per week.
Salary negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
Part-time or full time.
Previous experience in architectural practice useful but not essential.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Software.
