Fraser Brown MacKenna Architects is looking for a talented office manager to support our growing creative team based in Old Street, London.

This is an exciting and highly varied role involving the development and operation of our systems and procedures, taking advantage of new technology and ways of working to make sure we operate at peak efficiency, devoting as much time as possible to design.
Recently completed projects include the Museum of the Mind, shortlisted for an Architects’ Journal Retrofit Award and Pembury Circus for Peabody – a regeneration of the Pembury Estate which provides 268 new homes (50% affordable) and a range of community facilities, including a new community centre. The project is a finalist in the National Housing Awards. Other clients include IBM and the London School of Economics.
The office manager line manages our admin assistant and reports to the directors but the successful candidate will have the ability to work independently, often to tight timescales, assisting with all aspects of finance and administration.
The role has scope for development to assist with marketing and publicity and could suit either a mid-level administrator seeking a new challenge or a marketing administrator seeking a more varied role.
Skills and experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate many of the following attributes:
the ability to research, collate and communicate complex information in a simple way to a variety of stakeholders
the ability to produce clearly presented documents and reports
excellent written communication skills
excellent verbal communication skills
a customer focus
educated to A Level standard (or equivalent)
two years of experience in an administrative position with responsibility for finance, administration or marketing
previous experience working within a similar environment preferred
high degree of proficiency in the use of MS Office software especially Excel, Word and Powerpoint
some knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software (Photoshop/InDesign) would be advantageous
the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
the ability to monitor and control budgets and obtain value for money
professional conduct in the handling of confidential or sensitive information
excellent inter-personal skills
the ability to remain calm under pressure
flexibility with hours of work, together with the ability to work unsociable hours when required to meet deadlines
