Part-II Architectural Designer, Maternity Leave Ontract – Living in Space – Belsize Park, London

We are looking for an architectural designer with Part-II qualifications to cover a maternity leave contract, up to one year.

The role requirements are:

A strong creative with ability to think outside of the box and create strong unique architectural schemes for private single residential properties. Designers at LIS are given the creative lead on projects reporting into the operations director to ensure project requirements are being met. You must be able to work efficiently within a team as well as independently managing your own projects. You will carry the design from concept and planning through to construction detail drawing packages and design management on site. Our design team consists of interior designers and interior architects who will work alongside you developing the interior schemes. Typical projects will include extensions, basements, loft conversions, but can also include larger new build projects.

We are looking for an architectural designer with three to four years experience in residential design including proven experience in high-end luxury properties. You must have strong knowledge and experience with London councils requirements.

Essential skills:

a strong creative eye with the ability to respond to a broad design spectrum
Part-II qualification
three to four years experience in residential design in reputable UK design company
fully proficient in Vectorworks
SketchUp 3D modelling
hand sketching
Microsoft Word packages
experience submitting comprehensive planning applications and coordinating relevant surveys
strong knowledge of London councils’ requirements for residential planning applications and ability to advise clients on low risk approach to project proposals
fully competent in producing architectural drawing packages as well as technical detailing for interior elements
clear thinking, organisation and time management skill set, have the ability to work in a pressurised/deadline driven environment, and work on multiple projects at any one time
have good communication and presentation skills, and be able to work with clients confidently and sensitively
a knowledge of building control requirements
fluent in written and spoken English
