Luum is a London-based contemporary lighting studio, dedicated to the design, manufacture, delivery and commissioning of spectacular light installations for interiors around the world.
Our process is defined by a thoughtful and considered approach; It is sensitive to the relationship between architecture and light with a focus on delivering dynamic lighting and impactful design.
Luum work in a variety of ways for a wide range of design conscious clients, from designers and specifiers to private individuals. We cover a range of sectors including hospitality, commercial, public and residential spaces.
As a young company we have an exciting opportunity for a talented product design manager to join our team and play a significant role in our growth. The position will involve developing and managing highly contemporary and original light installation projects from initial enquiry through to final install.
The right candidate would have a minimum of three years experience as a product designer or project manager, preferably in the field of lighting. We are looking for motivated individuals with good knowledge of manufacturing processes who are well versed in the the process of bringing designs to live.
Main responsibilities:
work under the creative direction of the lead designer to develop projects from concept through to manufacture and installation
fully manage projects from start to finish
prepare and manage project schedules and budgets
develop designs proposals and prepare tender and quotation documents
manage and develop project supply chains and sub-contractors
provide on-site supervision during installation
To do all this we think that you are going to need the following skills and experience:
a minimum three years of relevant experience in product design or similar discipline
a degree in product design; or closely related
excellent 3D CAD and visualisation software skills (preferably SolidWorks)
experience producing production drawings
sound technical knowledge of product manufacturing methods.
