Modular is a developing company and this position is key to our future installation process and will become a key role in the growth of the business
The company are recruiting for the full-time position of production design manager.
This person will be working within the installation side of the business to deliver the detail installation drawings and information and manage the process of creating and packaging the various levels of information required for contract, purchase order and installation.
The role will suit a pragmatic experienced architect or detail designer who enjoys resolving construction details, the creation and management of construction documentation and the process of procurement and construction.
Responsibilities:
producing full detail design drawing and specification packages for contract
producing construction drawing packages and specifications for installation performance of tools and processes
assistance with the management of materials order processing
assistance with the development, implementation and monitoring of quality control of materials and technical standards of Modular and third party install teams
assistance with design appraisals to ensure design standards meet installation requirements
support for the development of best practice within the company
active participation in the assessment and development of materials and services suppliers
reporting schedule updates to directors and management team
tracking and recording of task hours accurately
assistance in the development of new product lines
assistance with the general operation of the business as required from time to time
Skills required:
ideally qualified to Part-II RIBA or similar with three years experience in a similar role
experienced in using Vectorworks 2D CAD and 3D Sketchup, Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Project essential
AutoCAD and Microstation competency also beneficial
experience of installing a variety of construction/installation applications
ability to learn quickly
knowledge of current construction site H&S regulations
rigorous, self-motivated individual with excellent attention to detail whilst working within a fast paced environment
strong verbal and written communication skills
ability to work to given schedules
able to work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and background (i.e. clients, contractors, designers, suppliers)
ability to work on own initiative as part of a team
