The Media Eye – Researchers / Senior Researchers (Ref: 033)

London based celebrity and entertainment press agency The Media Eye, which provides advance diary and celebrity contacts information to clients including The BBC, HELLO!, The Daily Mail, The Mirror, Grazia, The Telegraph, The Express, ITV, Net-A-Porter, Global Radio, Selfridges, The Jonathan Ross Show… and many other media organisations, PR consultancies, and brands, is recruiting for researchers to join our expanding editorial team.

The Media Eye is fast-paced and deadline driven and candidates must possess genuine enthusiasm for the showbiz and arts sectors; a keen eye for detail and thirst for knowledge; a confident telephone manner; and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team in an exciting and pressured environment, sourcing and summarising relevant upcoming events and opportunities, news and contact details.

We have a number of immediate openings for entertainment researchers on both our diary and celebrity desks, who need to come equipped with strong communication skills (both verbal and written) to help support our Editor. These roles are suitable for candidates from either a PR or journalism background.

Essential Skills & Requirements

A keen interest in celebrity culture, fashion and the arts.
Excellent research skills, and a willingness to go the extra mile.
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), with a confident phone manner.
The ability to work as part of a close-knit team in an exciting and pressured environment.
Organisation skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Desired Skills (non essential)

A background in B2B online publishing.
Good / current industry contacts.
Familiarity with social media.

Responsibilities

Updating and maintaining our database to ensure media and PR clients are kept fully up to date with relevant industry data
Maintaining and developing relationships with key and new sources
Writing tight, accurate and lively copy for a media audience
