This is an amazing opportunity for a positive, skilful and inspiring senior architect looking for a stimulating challenge. You will lead our successful design team and help drive this young organisation to prominence in international development.
We are seeking an experienced and successful senior architect who will lead, develop and deliver all aspects of Article 25’s projects. This includes: leading design projects, coordinating consultants, managing staff, contributing to the development of junior staff, administering construction contracts, building partner relationships and general project management. Current project locations include Myanmar, Haiti, Morocco, Nepal, Niger and Burkina Faso. It will be expected that the senior architect is able to travel and work abroad at short notice in sometimes hostile or inhospitable environments worldwide.
Skills, knowledge and experience:
RIBA Part-III qualified or equivalent
over five years’ experience in practice
experience in and understanding of the development and humanitarian sectors
strong designer with capacity to lead design projects
capable project manager able to oversee and deliver in multiple challenging environments
excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
strong in areas of planning and execution
a strong leader and a good manager
strategic problem solver and able to exercise good judgement
ability to speak French is advantageous
ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks
