A senior designer role with design management responsibilities, under the creative direction of Bethan Gray.
Leading furniture and homeware design studio Bethan Gray is looking for a highly organised, intelligent designer with strong communication skills. Our W2 studio specialises in commercial design collaborations with leading retailers and manufacturers globally, in the both the luxury and premium mass market sectors. In addition we manufacture our own “Boutique Collection” which is retailed at leading destination and design stores globally, as well as directly to the A&D community. We are a family business that has a global reach.
An opportunity has arisen to join this studio and play a significant role in it’s growth to come.
The right candidate would have a minimum of five years experience as a designer in either furniture, lighting or homewares. Candidates must be highly organised and adept at the process of design management, both in terms of managing their own time and timelines, but also that of other resources, both internally within the studio, and also externally with clients and suppliers.
Candidates must be highly competent in 3D visuals and renders, and be able to work rapidly and accurately. They must demonstrate exceptional presentational skills, both visually and in clarity of thought, at all stages of the design process. These skills will be called upon to also support the marketing function of the studio.
The role involves a high level of client and supplier liaison, so the successful candidate must understand the needs of the retailer, and understand what drives commercially successful design. They must be able to competently communicate all aspects of design and design management with our global audience of clients and suppliers. As such, fantastic written communication skills will be required.
They must be passionate and enthusiastic about design, collaborative and posses an ability to self-manage and motivate. Experience of designing trade show stands and retail spaces would be a bonus.
