Helen Green Design has an opportunity for a senior interior architectural designer to join our team.
Candidates are required to demonstrate experience and understanding of luxury/high end private residential and development projects with particular focus on design and procurement of interior architecture (bathrooms, kitchens, joinery).
General
ability to run projects solely or as a leader of a small team
report directly to the head of studio and to prepare project specific updates as required
minimum five years’ experience
extensive knowledge of interior architectural detail and specification and ability to contribute to the development of practice specifications (flooring/stonework/joinery etc)
understanding of project deliverables and programming. Must be able to develop deliverables plan of works and project planning
demonstrate understanding of interior refurbishment procurement
production of project design documentation
be organised and time managed
project coordination of contractors/specialist suppliers
preparation of tendering packages leading to appointment of the contractor
general understanding of refurbishment costs
competitor awareness
Projects
attendance at appropriate initial site meetings with client and senior management and visiting site to take briefs
Initiation and participation in progress meetings with the client (and senior management where required)
recording all meetings in minute format if necessary
preparation of presentation boards – showing relevant samples and finishes
development and implementation of design schemes, joinery, bathroom, kitchen designs
development and issue of electrical, switching and lighting layouts
coordination of site visits with sub-contractors
snagging of the project and follow up with contractor/client
understand the key aspects of planning process and UK building regulations
be involved in all aspects of the project from concept design, feasibilities, planning through to client liaison and construction
work in a team and liaise with clients
preparing design and technical drawings
preparing drawings for architect to assist with planning applications
monitoring the work on site
a general FF&E knowledge. An excellent knowledge of bespoke furniture & joinery design and detailing is essential
excellent design skills and interior spatial planning
Skills required
relevant architectural qualification
competent with microsoft word, excel spreadsheets and CAD
excellent knowledge of AutoCAD
excellent knowledge Photoshop, InDesign and Adobe CS
you are also required to hold a full clean British driving licence to enable you to drive to site as and when required
