With 2015 coming to an end, Tara Bernerd and Partners can look back at a spectacular year: working on a Four Seasons resort in Fort Lauderdale; with Starwood Capital on a new flagship London hotel; a luxury residential development in the heart of London’s Knightsbridge; a penthouse overlooking Central Park, New York; luxury residences in Shanghai and Hong Kong as well as a residential tower in Canary Wharf, London, developed in collaboration with Herzog & de Meuron.
We are by choice keeping a smaller scale to our practice, allowing us to work on only the most exciting of projects and providing the opportunity for our founder, director Tara Bernerd to be deeply involved in all of them. However, with even more exciting opportunities ahead of us, we have decided to expand our team and am looking to recruit a senior interior architect for the role of a team leader.
This role is for an exceptional designer who has at least eight years’ experience working on projects in London or abroad and who is confident in the complete design process and has the ability to lead other designers across multiple projects. In this role you will need to have good all round ability, a good knowledge of programs such as AutoCAD, InDesign and Photoshop. You will also need design judgement and instincts, management skills and experience with client facing roles.
Applicant must have:
at least eight years’ experience in the hospitality or commercial residential market
full proficiency on AutoCAD with good technical acumen
full proficiency using the Adobe Suite
full proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite
strong communicative skills and conceptual ability
good organisational skills, to ensure each project is completed on time and within budget
on site experience and ability to liaise directly with site other members of a design team as well as contractors
strong knowledge of technical building issues, and the range of relevant products and materials
must have exceptional planning, communication skills, time management and follow up skills to ensure tasks are completed in an appropriate and efficient way
must be able to deliver quality work under the pressure of deadlines
confident and engaging personality, with strong team management skills, client facing skills and the ability to ‘hit the ground running’
Candidates should be based in the UK and hold a valid UK work permit.
